His fur is long and his face is more like a Pomeranian, so I guess he's a cross, but when Jon described the behavior of this breed, I realized Milo is in fact a weener dog. I can accept that, barely.
I would like to just say that my little buddy who was not a dog, but a human with fur...was one of the most positive experiences in my life as how he loved and supported our family...my best buddy...

My wife and I like dogs OK but we've never owned one--so keep that in perspective when you hear this story: A few years ago, we were coming out the back of our private mailbox center into the asphalt parking lot. At the other end of the lot, a dachshund noticed us and started ambling our way. Mw wife--who is normally trying not to make contact with animals :) --was drawn to him as well. Before I knew it, she bent down and picked up his little paw to look at it. She had noticed him favoring it. He was very comfortable with her, sensing her good intent. What is difficult to convey with words is the feeling of spiritual connection I got between the two of them--and the spontaneous warmth of the moment. It turns out that he was also homeless; we followed through and made sure a nearby family with kids adopted him. They were BOTH lucky :)
